What are the common usage methods of laundry detergent pods
Here are the common usage methods of laundry detergent pods:
Preparation before use
- Read the product instructions
Different brands and types of laundry detergent pods vary in ingredients and functions. Some pods may contain powerful stain-removing ingredients and are suitable for clothes with heavy stains, while others may focus more on functions like softening and color protection. Before using them, carefully read the product manual to understand their scope of application, special precautions and other information.
- Check the type of washing machine
Laundry detergent pods are mainly used in fully automatic washing machines, including both pulsator washing machines and front-loading washing machines. If it’s a semi-automatic washing machine, since its washing process requires manual participation in some aspects, it may not be convenient to use laundry detergent pods, and it’s easy to cause the pods to burst prematurely.
- Select an appropriate washing program
Based on the material of the clothes and the degree of stains, choose the washing program of the washing machine. For example, for dirty cotton work clothes, you can choose the “heavy-duty wash” or “standard wash for cotton fabrics” program; for delicate materials like silk or wool clothes, you should choose the “gentle wash” program.
Putting in the laundry detergent pods
- Front-loading washing machine
Generally, after putting the clothes into the drum of the front-loading washing machine, directly put the laundry detergent pod into the drum, preferably in the middle or at the bottom of the clothes. Be careful not to put the pod in the detergent dispenser, because during the water inlet process of some washing machines, the water flow may cause the pod to dissolve prematurely, thus affecting the washing effect.
- Pulsator washing machine
First, put the laundry detergent pod at the bottom of the washing tub of the washing machine, and then put in the clothes. This can avoid the pod being broken when the clothes are being put in, and also enable the pod to have better contact with water and clothes during the washing process, so as to fully play its washing function.
Precautions
- Avoid hand contact
The outer membrane of the laundry detergent pod is designed to wrap the highly concentrated liquid detergent inside, and under normal circumstances, it can prevent the liquid detergent from leaking in advance. However, if your hands are in contact with the pod for a long time, the moisture on your hands or friction may cause the outer membrane to break, and the liquid detergent will stick to your hands, causing skin discomfort. Therefore, try to use dry hands to quickly put in the pod.
- Prevent children from accessing
The appearance of laundry detergent pods is usually bright and colorful, similar to small candies, which is somewhat attractive to children. Since the liquid detergent inside may contain chemicals harmful to the human body, keep the pods out of the reach of children to avoid accidental ingestion.
- Don’t overuse
Laundry detergent pods are highly concentrated detergent products. Usually, one pod can meet the washing needs of a general amount of laundry (such as 3 – 5 kilograms of clothes). If you overuse them, it may lead to excessive residue of the liquid detergent, which not only wastes the detergent but also may cause the clothes to not be rinsed clean, resulting in an unpleasant smell or skin irritation.
