The 4-step hand washing method for sweaters is guaranteed not to shrink

Sweaters are knitted garments, and knitted fabrics are fabrics made of loops that are connected to each other, and are a large variety of fabrics. Knitted fabrics have good elasticity, moisture absorption, breathability, comfort and warmth. The raw materials are mainly natural fibers such as cotton, linen, silk, and wool, as well as chemical fiber knitted fabrics such as nylon, acrylic, and polyester.

Because of the particularity of knitted fabrics, how to wash them becomes particularly important. How to wash knitted sweaters without shrinking or deforming?

cleaning method

  1. First, pick up the sweater and shake the dust on it, then soak it in cold water for 10-15 minutes, squeeze out the water after taking it out, put it in the washing powder solution or soap flake solution, and gently scrub, then rinse with
  2. water. In order to ensure the color of the wool, 2% acetic acid (or edible vinegar) can be added to the water to neutralize the residual soap. In this way, the possibility of the sweater becoming larger after washing is reduced.
  3. Washing knitted sweaters with softener (it is best not to use this method for white clothes), not only can clean the dust, but also will not make the knitted sweater bigger after washing, but also make the wool not fade and prolong the service life. The washing method is: use 1 pot of boiling water, put an appropriate amount of softener, wait for the softener to soak through, and after the water is cool, soak the sweater (thread) in the tea water for 15 minutes, then gently rub it a few times, then rinse it with water.
  1. The white sweater will gradually turn black after wearing it for a long time. If you put the sweater in the refrigerator for 1 hour after washing, it may cause the sweater to become larger after washing, so it should be taken out to dry, and it can be as white as new. If the dark sweater is stained with dust, you can use a sponge dipped in water, squeeze it dry, and wipe it gently.

drying

  1. Avoid exposure to sunlight, which will destroy its luster and elasticity, making it yellow and black. After washing, the sweater should be dried in the shade and placed in a ventilated and dry place. It is best to lay it flat and place it according to the original shape of the clothes to avoid deformation. Prevents sweaters from getting bigger after washing, and avoids ironing.
  2. If it cannot be placed flat, it is best to put it in the net pocket to dry in the shade.

maintenance

  1. There is always friction when the sweater is worn, and the fibers in the fabric will loosen during the movement, entangle each other, and be kneaded into lumps, forming a pom-pom shape, which affects the appearance. To reduce pilling, try to avoid friction with objects with rough surfaces. Some parts with more friction opportunities, such as sleeves and tabletops, sofa armrests, wallets inserted in inner pockets, etc., as well as long-term backpacks, wearing rough coats without linings, especially pilling, should minimize such contact.
  2. For the less exposed pilling, you can gently pull it out with your fingers or cut it with small scissors, and brush it with a clothes brush. For those with a larger area and more pilling, you can first lay the sweater flat on a flat table, use a brush to lightly brush the dust according to the stitches of the fabric, straighten and tighten, and use a special electric shaver to gently irrigate it vertically. Suck it, shave off the balls, clean it with a brush, and iron it with a steam iron if possible, it will be as clean as new immediately, and the sweater will not be damaged at all!

四 matters needing attention

  1. Various detergents can be used, and they can be hand washed and machine washed, but it is not suitable for chlorine bleaching, and they must not be washed with hot water.
  2. White clothes can be washed at high temperatures with a strong alkaline detergent, which has a bleaching effect.
  3. The soaking time of the fabric should not be too long to avoid fading the fabric.
  4. It should be dried in the shade and avoid exposure to the sun to avoid fading of dark clothes. When drying in the sun, turn them inside out.
  5. Be sure to wash it separately from other clothes, do not wash them together.
  6. Do not wring out to avoid wrinkling.
