How to wash light colored clothes?

How to wash light colored clothes

In summer

Many people like to wear white items

But the light color is too easy to get dirty and difficult to wash

Accidentally wash it off

It’s not that hard to get rid of stains

Before teaching you how to clean

Let me give you some knowledge first

White clothes are not resistant to soiling and are prone to yellowing

Do you know the reason behind this?

  1. The fluorescent agent becomes weaker

In the process of making clothes, a whitening dye, a fluorescent agent, will be added, which can brighten the dyed fabric, but after washing too much, the fluorescent agent will be lost, and the clothes will appear yellow and old.

  1. Oil residues secreted by the body

The acidic substances secreted by sweat are oxidized, which will turn the clothes yellow, so generally, the inside of the armpits or the collar will turn yellow more seriously.

  1. The detergent is not rinsed clean

If the laundry detergent is not rinsed, it will also turn the clothes yellow in a large area, so it is best to bleach white clothes several times, especially when the clothes are exposed to the sun, the residual rinse agent and foam are easy to yellow and become old.

There are many ways to wash white clothes. Today, I will teach you a few simple methods. The materials are all common in life and are particularly convenient.

plastic bag

Materials: Prepare a plastic bag, washing powder, and laundry soap. The plastic bag is preferably transparent and white.

First of all, put water in the basin, wash the clothes briefly, and wash the key parts with washing powder or laundry soap.

After washing, take another basin of clean water, add washing powder, soak the clothes in the basin, let the clothes completely soak in the washing water, and then apply laundry soap on the clothes. Do not wash them directly into a plastic bag.

Tie the plastic bag tightly, put it in the sun for an hour or two, and clean the clothes after taking them out. You will find that the white clothes are as clean as ever.

lemon

Material: 2 lemons + 1 pot of water.

Method 1: Throw 2 lemon slices into the water, turn off the heat when the water boils, and immerse the clothes in the water for 1 hour. After drying, the clothes are super white.

Method 2: Apply lemon juice to the discolored and yellowed areas, brush with a toothbrush for a few minutes, rinse and dry.

baking soda

Method 1: Soak the baking soda in warm water until it dissolves, then soak the clothes in the water for 8 hours, then rinse with water, the clothes will be soft and white.

Method 2: Pour the baking soda into a bowl, add an appropriate amount of water and smash it into a paste, apply it on the yellowed area, and brush it lightly after air-drying, and the yellow marks are gone.

white vinegar

Method 1: If you are washing clothes in a washing machine, add a little white vinegar before rinsing the clothes, and the white clothes will not turn yellow.

Method 2: If you wash by hand, it is recommended to boil the water, add white vinegar, let the clothes soak in the water completely, wash them normally overnight, and the stains are gone.

White socks can be done as well. After soaking the socks, take them out and wash them. You will find that the socks are the same as the new ones.

Precautions

Some people like to store clothes for a few days to wash together, although it seems convenient, it is easy to promote the growth of bacteria.

Especially in the summer when the temperature is rising, putting clothes in a humid environment is easy to get a lot of black spots, like mold, so it is best to wash the clothes as soon as possible after changing them.
