Since powder laundry detergent can show good decontamination effects in various water qualities such as well water, river water, tap water, spring water, and even seawater, and is widely used for various fabrics, its production and use have developed rapidly. Here are the general steps to use powder laundry detergent for machine washing:

 

Sorting laundry

– Sort your clothes according to color (separate whites from colors), fabric type (such as delicate fabrics apart from regular ones), and level of dirtiness.

 

Measuring the detergent

– Refer to the instructions on the detergent packaging. Usually, a standard load of laundry might require around 1 – 2 tablespoons of powder detergent for a normal level of dirt. For very dirty or large loads, you can add a bit more.

– Use a measuring cup or spoon provided with the detergent or a common household measuring utensil.

 

Adding to the washing machine

– If you have a top-loading washing machine, add the powder detergent directly into the drum before adding the clothes. Some people prefer to dissolve the detergent in water first to ensure better distribution.

– For a front-loading washing machine, there is usually a detergent drawer. Open the drawer and add the powder into the appropriate compartment (usually marked for main wash detergent).

 

Adding clothes and starting the wash cycle

– Place the sorted clothes into the washing machine.

– Select the appropriate wash cycle (such as normal, delicate, heavy-duty) and other settings like water temperature according to the fabric requirements. Then start the washing machine.
